Blueprint Gaming launches The Goonies Cash Inferno with new key-collect mechanic

The studio’s latest Goonies instalment introduces a key-triggered collect system and progressive bonus upgrades, extending a franchise that spans more than half a decade of branded slot releases.

Licensed IP franchises have become a core retention tool for slot developers, with Blueprint Gaming’s Goonies series among the most extended branded collections in the UK market. Blueprint Gaming released The Goonies Cash Inferno on 30 July 2026, adding a key-colour collect mechanic and revised bonus progression to the franchise.

Cash Inferno mechanic extends Goonies collect system

Blueprint Gaming has launched The Goonies Cash Inferno, the latest instalment in a branded slot series that began with the original The Goonies title in 2018. The new release introduces the Cash Inferno mechanic, which operates alongside the existing Money Collect system during base play.

The Cash Inferno feature is activated by landing coloured Skeleton Keys together with a Goonies Never Say Die symbol on reels one and/or six.

Keys then collect prizes from a golden panel to the left of the reelset, with each colour carrying a distinct function: Green Keys collect a single cash value, Blue Keys collect up to five values simultaneously, and Red Keys apply multipliers to every collected prize.

Treasure Trail and bonus routes

The game retains the series’ Treasure Trail progression system, in which Green Gem symbols advance players towards milestone rewards. Four checkpoints along the trail award bonus picks that carry forward into the bonus game; completing the trail in full grants immediate bonus access.

Landing three bonus scatter symbols triggers Inferno Spins via the standard route, while four scatter symbols automatically complete the Treasure Trail, launching the feature with any picks already accumulated.

During Inferno Spins, only key symbols, Goonies Never Say Die symbols and bonus symbols remain active on the reels. A Golden One-Eyed Willy symbol can appear throughout, unlocking up to four upgrade levels that progressively increase Cash Inferno values as the bonus unfolds.

Franchise context and operator availability

The Goonies Cash Inferno is at least the fifth distinct title in Blueprint’s Goonies slot series. The most recent prior release, The Goonies Megaways Quest for Riches, launched in May 2025. The series is based on the 1985 Warner Bros. film directed by Richard Donner.

Blueprint holds licences from the UK Gambling Commission, the Malta Gaming Authority, and regulatory bodies in Alderney, Gibraltar, Sweden and Canada, supplying content across the UK, Malta, Gibraltar, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain, and Canada.

Alex Naspe, Head of Marketing Intelligence at Blueprint Gaming, said:

‘The Goonies franchise continues to be one of our strongest-performing branded collections, and with Cash Inferno we wanted to introduce another meaningful evolution that feels both familiar and exciting for returning players. The new Cash Inferno mechanic, enhanced Skeleton Key features and rewarding Treasure Trail combine to create an adventure packed with anticipation from the first spin through to the bonus game.’
