OpticOdds brings live sportsbook market data to Perplexity Computer

The Perplexity Computer integration is OpticOdds’ first consumer-facing deployment, opening up the same low-latency data feed used by professional trading desks to everyday bettors through natural-language AI queries.
The integration arrives as parent company Gambling.com Group Limited (Nasdaq: GAMB) accelerates a strategic pivot towards its Sports Data Services division, which posted 13% year-on-year revenue growth in Q1 2026 and now accounts for a record 28% of total group revenue. It also follows OpticOdds’ launch in May 2026 as the first sports data company to ship a Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration for AI agents, releasing native support for Anthropic’s Claude Desktop.
The integration
OpticOdds, the sports data infrastructure platform serving nearly 200 sportsbooks worldwide, is now integrated within Perplexity Computer and available to Pro and Max subscribers, the companies announced on 16 July 2026.
The rollout marks the first time the platform’s professional-grade market data, the same real-time feed used by sportsbooks, exchanges, and prediction markets for internal trading and risk operations, has been made directly accessible to consumers through an AI product, with no separate OpticOdds subscription or configuration required.
How the integration works
When a Perplexity Computer user asks a sports betting question, the product calls the OpticOdds application programming interface (API) in real time and returns an answer drawn directly from the live data feed.
The infrastructure can process more than one million requests per second, the same low-latency capacity underpinning professional trading desks, and covers odds, line movement, player props, injury impact, and cross-book market comparisons.
A user can ask which National Basketball Association (NBA) player props have moved most in the past hour, how the spread has shifted on a given National Football League (NFL) game, or which sportsbooks are still offering the over on a specific market, and receive the answer instantly through a single natural-language conversation.
The Perplexity Computer integration differs from OpticOdds’ earlier AI deployment in a key respect. In May 2026, OpticOdds became the first sports data company to ship an MCP integration for AI agents, releasing native support for Anthropic’s Claude Desktop. That implementation required users to hold an OpticOdds API key and configure the MCP server themselves. The Perplexity Computer build is native to the product, so eligible subscribers receive real-time sports market data the moment they ask, with no additional setup or cost.
Executive comment
Matt Restivo, SVP of Sports Data Services, Gambling.com Group Limited, said:
‘For two decades, the commercial-grade data underneath real-time markets has lived inside professional trading desks. This is the first time that infrastructure reaches consumers directly. AI is becoming the distribution layer for the data that real markets run on. Sports is one of the first places that’s happening, and it won’t be the last.’
Jeff Grimes, Head of Live Event Product at Perplexity, said the platform required a foundation that matched its accuracy standards. ‘OpticOdds has built the data layer that the most sophisticated sportsbooks rely on to price markets in real time, and that’s the same foundation we wanted behind every sports betting query inside Perplexity Computer,’ Grimes said.
He added that accuracy is core to Perplexity’s mission, and that any Pro or Max subscriber can now ask about a player prop or track line movement across books in a single conversation, with no separate OpticOdds subscription or setup required.
Company and market context
OpticOdds was founded in 2023 and is part of Gambling.com Group Limited’s Sports Data Services division, which also includes OddsJam and Rotowire. The division serves sportsbooks, exchanges, prediction markets, daily fantasy operators, and trading firms, with more than 100 operators currently running on the OpticOdds platform. The Perplexity Computer deployment is OpticOdds’ first consumer-facing product.
The launch sits within a broader AI-led strategy at Gambling.com Group Limited. In its Q1 2026 results, the group reported that Sports Data Services revenue grew 13% year-on-year to $11.2 million, a record 28% of total group revenue of $40.4 million, driven primarily by OpticOdds, which recorded 94% growth in new deals compared with Q1 2025 and added 178% more international partners year-on-year.
The company has since announced a proposed AI-driven restructuring targeting a 25% workforce reduction and $13 million in annualised cost savings, positioning Sports Data Services as the primary growth engine going forward.
Perplexity, founded in 2022, reports that its answer engine now handles more than 1.5 billion questions globally each month. Perplexity Computer is available to Pro subscribers ($20 per month) and Max subscribers ($200 per month), with both tiers able to access the OpticOdds integration from launch.
